“There is no statute of limitation on starting over. Be a phoenix. Be ashes. Burn down. Resurrect.

Let go of the idea you must always be who you have always been.”

As a child I was bullied. Being small, quiet, and shy made me an easy target. I remember walking into kindergarten overwhelmed, yet I was too young to understand what I was feeling. I knew that I felt uncomfortable in this new place with unfamiliar people.

While I was comfortable with family and friends, according to “family lore” (i.e., my 4 older brothers), I also had intense toddler tantrums. In my preteen years, they evolved into perfectionism and low frustration tolerance (with myself). My emotions took over for small things, like my ponytail not falling just right and other seemingly petty things. My emotions would take over, and I didn’t know why or how to cope.

As an adult, these emotions turned into stress, social anxiety, and low self-esteem. With love and encouragement from others, I began to heal. I came to process and understand my childhood, and developed an awareness of how my resiliency, or lack thereof, impacted my development.

This understanding impacted my life in unimaginable ways. I often thought,

“What if I knew this as a child? What if my parents knew?”

It became my purpose to share this with others, particularly my pediatric clients and their parents, who work tirelessly to overcome daily challenges. I imagined the growth they could achieve if they had strong resiliency skills and self-love.

I have continued to step "outside of the box" and learn methods that help support the development of strong, resilient parents and children, no matter their circumstance or diagnosis. My journey eventually led me to reflex integration work and mindfulness which are at the core of my work. I am excited to share this knowledge with you to support you along your own journey!
